i-Cable news has confirmed a Covid-19 case among its staff members, but says newsroom operations have not been affected.
The cable news channel said a cameraman has been confirmed with the coronavirus.
One reporter whom he worked and had meals with has been classified as a close contact and would be sent to a quarantine camp, it said.
But the station stressed that other colleagues who had worked with the infected staff member in the past week had been wearing masks at all times.
All of them have stopped going to work for now and will be tested for the virus.
i-Cable said all vehicles that the cameraman had been in, along with all the equipment he had used, will be disinfected.
It added that the office has also been disinfected even though the camera operator mostly worked outside.
Multiple newsrooms have been hit by coronavirus infections, including Metro Radio – which was forced to briefly shut down its Whampoa office last month after reporting a Covid infection that eventually grew into a cluster of eight.
