A resident living in the Wan Chai building where a domestic helper agency linked to a possible cluster of Covid-19 cases is located, expressed concern about contamination while people at the centre didn't respond to media queries.

RTHK visited the building and tried to get in touch with staff at the boarding house, which is located on the fourth floor of Fook Gay Mansion on Lockhart Road, but no one from the office responded.

The unit in question had signs posted on the door confirming that it was a boarding house, and that the name of the company was H L & C Employment Agency Ltd.

The reporter heard voices inside the unit, but no one answered the door.

There were also signs saying that the office had moved to a unit on the 11th floor of the building, but when reporters arrived at the unit, there was a sign saying that electricity had been cut off.

A resident living on the fourth floor told RTHK they knew the unit in question was a boarding house for domestic workers, and had seen many of them come and go. But he said there haven't been any problems about hygiene.

The man said he hadn't heard about any plans to disinfect the building either.

He also said that his company had arranged for him to work from home, and that he has made an appointment to go to a public hospital to get tested for Covid-19 later in the day.

On Wednesday, the Centre for Health Protection confirmed that one of the locally confirmed Covid-19 cases was an Indonesian domestic helper who stayed at the Wan Chai boarding house for two days with 28 others.
