Police continued their investigation into the cases against Apple Daily founder Jimmy Lai on Tuesday, taking the media tycoon to a yacht club in Sai Kung.
A handcuffed Lai was seen arriving at the club escorted by about half a dozen officers. He was then taken to a yacht which was moored there.
Lai was arrested on Monday morning and was detained overnight for allegedly colluding with foreign forces and fraud.
Sources say four other Next Media executives were also nabbed by police on Monday. They are Royston Chow, who is Next Digital’s CFO and COO, chief administrative officer Wong Wai-keung, CEO Cheung Kim-hung, and Next Animation general manager Ng Tat-kwong.
About 200 officers raided the Next Media building and searched the area, including the newsroom of the Apple Daily.
During the raid also, Lai was brought to the building to assist the operations being conducted there.
