A teenager shot in the thigh by a plainclothes policeman last year appeared in Fanling Magistracy on Tuesday over charges of taking part in a riot and attacking an officer.

The boy was shot in Yuen Long in the evening of October 4 amid a protest against an emergency law banning the use of face masks in demonstrations.

He was 14 years old at the time. He's now 15.

No plea was taken and the case has been adjourned until November 3 upon defence request.

The teenager has been put on a HK$10,000 cash bail. He's not allowed to leave Hong Kong and has to observe a curfew at night.
