The New World First Bus Company on Wednesday said records from the vehicle show the bus driver arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving during Sunday's protests was driving at about 10 to 35 kilometres per hour at the time.
Police had said the 37-year-old driver was travelling at high speed on Nathan Road, and he was honking his horn in an "unreasonable" manner.
Officers also accused him of possessing an offensive weapon, after they found a spanner in his bag.
New World First Bus said it can't assess whether the driver's use of the horn was appropriate or not without the audio records.
It said it will not assign any duties to the driver for the time being and will offer him any assistance he requires.
The company said the driver has agreed to the arrangement.
