The Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital in Happy Valley on Sunday said it had has been testing its staff for Covid-19, since an elderly patient died there last week of the disease. Two staff members had also tested preliminary positive.
In a statement, the private hospital said 2,600 of its 3,200 staff had since tested negative, with the screening of the remaining staff due to be completed on Monday.
The hospital also said said 1,700 nursing staff were among those who tested negative.
The 77-year-old woman, who died, had been in the hospital since August. She had developed a fever on Wednesday and tested positive for the virus the following day.
