Police on Monday said officers had arrested four people in Mong Kok over the weekend for alleged seditious intention over the display of a banner and other items.
Officers did not specify what the items in question were but media reports say they include a yellow banner with the words 'We want genuine universal suffrage' printed on it in Chinese, along with a yellow umbrella.
A small foldable display, that contained material deemed by police to violate the national security law, was also seized.
Police said patrol officers had arrested the four - aged between 61 and 85 - on Sai Yeung Choi Street South at around 9.30 pm on Sunday.
Police say the anti-triad unit of Mong Kok district is following up on the case.
