Vice Premier He Lifeng on Tuesday encouraged entrepreneurs to work together to contribute to the high-quality and sustainable development of the Belt and Road Initiative by exploring new business prospects and promoting cooperation.

Speaking at the Belt and Road Forum CEO Conference, he said he's looking forward to exploring new opportunities – ten years after the launch of the initiative.

“In order to promote high-quality development under the Belt and Road Initiative, the more enterprises participate, the better,” he said.

“Entrepreneurs should explore new business opportunities, build on their own strengths and make new contributions to promoting cooperation and ensuring the security and stability of the global industrial and supply chains in the great endeavor of the Belt and Road Initiative.”

He reminded enterprises to be proactive in following up on the agreements signed at the forum to make sure that they are implemented effectively.

Going forward, the vice premier said China and other Belt and Road partners will continue to improve air, sea, road and rail transport to expand international cooperation and further reduce cross-border transport costs.

He also called for more mutually beneficial investment projects to boost economic growth.

He noted that China and other countries will continue to work on new areas of cooperation, including the green economy, new energy, big data and artificial intelligence.
