Olympic gold medallist Vivian Kong will start work at the Jockey Club this weekend, just days after announcing her retirement from professional fencing.
On Sunday, Kong had said she was looking forward to following a new career path that would allow her to give back to Hong Kong.
Raymond Tam, executive director of corporate affairs at the Jockey Club, announced on his Facebook page that Kong will take up a job there as assistant external affairs manager.
He said Kong's desire to contribute to society aligns with the club's values and her tasks will include work on social welfare, youth affairs and sports development.
