The SAR's boccia stars were guaranteed at least two more silvers on Thursday by entering the finals of two mixed pair events at the Paris Paralympics.

The Hong Kong, China team of Leung Yuk-wing and Annie Cheung, defeated their Canadian opponents 6-4 in the BC4 semi-final, after jumping out to an early 4-1 lead on the green.

Leung was unable to get a medal his individual event in Paris. But speaking to reporters in tears, he said he's excited to reach his goal of making the mixed pairs final.

"I'm so excited and really happy. Because before the competition, I said I wanted to make it to the doubles final. In the end, we made it, so I'm very happy," he told RTHK.

Cheung, meanwhile, said she's glad she won't be competing alone when they goes for gold against players from Colombia.

She said she hopes she won't be too nervous in the final - scheduled for early Friday morning Hong Kong time.

In the BC3 category, Ho Yuen-kei and Tse Tak-wah scored a 3-2 victory against Thailand in the semi-final, and they'll next face South Korea for the top prize.

Ho said both herself and Tse were so excited to have a shot at gold.

"I'm so excited so thrilled, because we can say we've made history, reaching the final for the first time in boccia's BC3 category....Tse also said he's so excited, that his mind had gone blank," she told RTHK.
