Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law said building berths to accommodate luxury yachts across several locations in Hong Kong will help attract high-end tourists.

Speaking at a press conference on the latest Policy Address, Law said it was too early to estimate the economic impact of the plan.

"There will be 600 berths being built in Lamma and Aberdeen, and also in the Skytopia project at the Hong Kong International Airport. Their new berths will be able to accommodate yachts that are more than 80 feet long," Law said.

She said tourists coming on a yacht would consume various products and services in the city, which would be beneficial to the SAR's economy.

The minister added that high-end tourists are often looking for personalised travel experiences that go beyond standard sightseeing.

To cater to this market, Law said the government and the Tourism Board will work with the hospitality, dining, and retail sectors to design tailored services and unique offerings.

"We also can have tailor-made experiences in our Michelin-star restaurants, in our theme parks, or even in our shopping malls. That will very much depend on the preferences and the requirements of these groups or tourists, but we will look into different ways to ensure that they have a good experience in Hong Kong," she said.
