Sam Altman ousted from OpenAI, Microsoft's deepfake maker and HK firms' readiness for AI

It’s been a dizzying couple of days in tech… on Friday, in a shocking development, the face of the AI boom, Sam Altman, was sacked as CEO of OpenAI – the company behind ChatGPT. Then followed rumours of a possible return, as investors and employees sought to steady the ship.

And suddenly on Monday, the firm’s top backer Microsoft announced it has appointed Altman and his fellow OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman to lead a new advanced AI research team at the software giant.

It’s a reshuffle that has shaken up the tech world, and will no doubt affect its future development.
