Google's Gemini AI model, Meta's AI image generator and EU's AI Act

Google's latest AI model, Gemini, wowed the cyber world with its apparent ability to understand not just text and code, but also video, images and audio.

A demo video showed Gemini seeming to recognise that a duck was being drawn, and comprehending hand gestures in real time.

But it turns out that the video demo was heavily edited. Instead of watching live videos, Gemini was prompted by still images and text.
