Potentially eavesdropping gadgets and using AI in education
There’s been a long-standing myth that our smart devices can listen to what we say and use the information to feed us personalised ads.
And now, there may be evidence to suggest that this capability really exists. American media giant, Cox Media Group, earlier claimed that their "active listening" feature can do just that.
But the firm has since deleted its web page that promoted the function, adding that they "do not listen to any conversations or have access to anything beyond a third-party aggregated, anonymised and fully encrypted data set that can be used for ad placement."
So how do we protect ourselves from potentially eavesdropping gadgets? Listen to AI consultant Raj Shroff’s advice in this episode.
You’ll also hear about the benefits and risks of using AI in education.
