Cabbies call off strike against unlicensed hailing services

The taxi industry has reversed course and called off a strike initially planned for next month to push for a crackdown on illegal ride-hailing services. The U-turn comes after they held talks with transport officials. A trade representative says authorities should be given time to take enforcement action. Janice Lo reports.

Police say a man has been arrested on suspicion of scamming people by sending phishing text messages that start with a hashtag. The force has called for extra caution since the usage of the symbol was one of the ways to combat scams, as Damon Pang reports.

Rangers to euthanise 90 whales stranded on Australian beach

Australian authorities say that 90 surviving false killer whales stranded on an isolated beach in Tasmania are to be euthanised. They are part of a pod of more than 150, but the rest died shortly after the stranding. Liverpool to face Man City this weekend in Premier League action
