American economist Jeffrey Sachs says US President Donald Trump won't win the trade war against China, as Beijing is no longer as dependant on American markets as it used to be. The Path of Democracy think-tank says foreign chambers of commerce and expats are generally optimistic towards Hong Kong's business environment. A study of a dozen chambers and more than 600 foreign nationals living here found they are generally upbeat, despite competition from other cities such as Singapore and Sydney. The think-tank also says it doesn't think US tariffs would have a strong negative impact on the SAR. Its co-convenor Ray Poon told Charlie Chun more about the study.
Don't judge healthcare reform by fee hikes, Lo says

The health secretary says it is unreasonable to judge forthcoming changes in public hospital charges simply by focusing on fee increases for certain services. As Raymond Yeung reports, Lo Chung-mau stressed that an extra 1.1 million people will be eligible for partial or full-fee waivers under the proposal.

Trump and El Salvador's Bukele rule out returning migrant

US President Donald Trump and Nayib Bukele, the president of El Salvador, say they have no basis for the Central American nation to return a Maryland man who was wrongly deported there last month. It comes as the man's family gathered outside the White House to call for his return to the United States. Washington has deported hundreds of people, mostly Venezuelans, to El Salvador since Trump took office in January. Despite admitting the deportation was a mistake, and even though the US Supreme Court has ordered his return, the Trump administration is not budging. Jamie Clarke reports:
UN agency warns of worsening hunger situation in Sudan

With the war in Sudan marking its second anniversary, the World Food Programme says decreasing global funding is further complicating the country's dire hunger situation. The UN agency warned in March that 58 million people were at risk of extreme hunger or starvation unless urgent funding for food aid was secured. Katy Perry in all-woman trip to edge of space

A group of six women have launched into space and successfully returned to earth, marking the first all-female spaceflight in more than 60 years.
