A patients' rights advocate has pointed out that one way to deter the reselling of medication online would be to establish more community pharmacies in Hong Kong. Tim Pang from the Society for Community Organisation told Anne Chan that doctors at public hospitals tended to give out too much medication because patients had to wait a long time before their next consultation:

The government says 10,000 residential units will be built near the future Pak Shek Kok MTR station in the New Territories. As Wendy Wong reports, a lawmaker hopes the station and transport infrastructure will be ready by the time residents move in:

Currently, Pak Shek Kok is connected to urban areas by the Tolo Highway, the main artery for the northeastern New Territories. Japan will soon have a new leader. Prime Minister Fumio Kishida says he will step aside next month and the ruling Liberal Democratic Party will choose a new party boss who will become the country's next prime minister. The 67-year-old premier has been in office since October 2021 and has seen his ratings fall over rising prices and several scandals. RTHK's Tokyo correspondent Julian Ryall told Annemarie Evans that Kishida's departure was unexpected:

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has warned all sides involved in the Gaza conflict not to undermine high-level ceasefire talks set to open in Qatar. It is a veiled warning to Iran, Israel and Hamas. It comes as Palestinian deaths continue to mount from Israeli strikes in the besieged Gaza strip. Azam Khan reports:

Monday was World Elephant Day and a conservation centre in Guangdong celebrated by introducing to the public its latest baby African herd. They are descendants from a batch that was originally brought over from Zimbabwe, as Vanessa Cheng reports:
Indian app hopes to reduce human deaths from wild elephants  Listenfacebook
India's northeastern state of Assam has launched a mobile phone app aimed at reducing deaths caused by wild elephants. The Haati app will warn people of approaching herds to allow them to get out of the way. Assam has one of the biggest elephant populations in India. RTHK's Delhi correspondent Murali Krishnan told Annemarie Evans that there had been a high number of elephant and human deaths caused by their interactions:
