John Lee set to deliver third Policy Address  Listenfacebook
Chief Executive John Lee will be delivering his third policy address at the Legislative Council on Wednesday morning and many will be eager to hear what plans he has to boost the economy. Lee already gave a hint of what to expect, telling the media on Tuesday that the official theme of his latest policy blueprint is: “Reform for Enhancing Development and Building Our Future Together.” Ahead of his address, many businesses were clamouring for more help amid a challenging economic environment. Chief Executive John Lee has urged officials to make sure that parts of the Zoological and Botanical Gardens are properly sealed off following the mysterious deaths of nine monkeys there. Study shows shrinkflation rampant in supermarkets  Listenfacebook
The Consumer Council says people should pay close attention when shopping in supermarkets. The watchdog warned that retailers are taking advantage of downsized products to effectively engage in price hikes. It surveyed 62 supermarket products, looking at volume or weight changes over the past 3.5 years and found nearly all of them had seen weight or volume reduction by as much as 30 percent. The council's Chief Executive Gilly Wong spoke to Elvis Yu:

Pakistan's capital was under strict security lockdown as Premier Li Qiang landed in the city ahead of a heads-of-government gathering of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. Unemployed people living with obesity in the UK could be given new weight loss jabs to help them get back into work. RTHK's UK correspondent Peter Anderson says illnesses relating to obesity cost the National Health Service the equivalent of HK$110 billion a year. But he told Azam Khan there were doubts that manufacturers would be able to ramp up production to meet demand for the drugs:

In Japan's largest initial public offering in six years, Tokyo Metro raised US$2.3 billion after the subway's joint owners - the central government and the Tokyo government - sold half of their stakes. Demand was huge with the offering reportedly more than 15 times oversubscribed. The company is a household name and - at the issue price - the shares were offering a relatively high yield in comparison with shares of other railway companies. The shares will list on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on October 23. Natale Ching reports:

Two giant pandas arrive at Washington Zoo  Listenfacebook
Two giant pandas sent from China have arrived at Washington zoo in the United States. They are Bao Li and Qing Bao, both three-years-old. The new pandas will be quarantined for at least 30 days and will make their public debut weeks after that at the Smithsonian National Zoo. It is part of a decade-long breeding and research agreement, as Natale Ching reports:
