Govt confirms 12 HK residents trapped in Myanmar and Cambodia Listen
A government task force helping Hong Kong residents lured to Southeast Asian countries to engage in illegal work has wrapped up its visit to Thailand. Undersecretary for Security Michael Cheuk confirmed that 12 SAR residents remain unlawfully detained in Myanmar and Cambodia. He said actual progress has been made after meeting Thai officials, and expressed the hope to facilitate the return of the residents by the end of this month. Azam Khan reports.
Public housing abuse set to be criminalised Listen
Serious misuse of public housing could be made a criminal offence. That's according to Housing Department sources, who say future offenders could be jailed and fined. Currently, eviction is the harshest punishment for tenants who break the rules, for example by subletting their units, or using them for business purposes. Elvis Yu with the details.

Chief Executive John Lee says the authorities will comprehensively investigate any suspected links people or organisations may have with those who endanger national security, to see if any support or assistance has been given. He spoke to reporters before his weekly Executive Council meeting, as Damon Pang reports.

Police employ new tool in space oil drug crackdown Listen
Police say they'll begin using rapid test kits to detect a regulated sedative from Saturday to tackle the emerging use of the "space oil drug". The number of arrests relating to the controlled drug skyrocketed from eight in 2023 to over 200 in the first 11 months of last year. Often inhaled through vapes, police say it's difficult to distinguish the drug from a normal e-cigarette. Frank Yung reports.
Young adults prone to anxiety and depression Listen
A Shue Yan University study has indicated young adults, who are between the ages of 18 and 27, are the most severely affected by anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress symptoms compared to other age groups. The study polled more than 10,000 people in Hong Kong to try to understand the mental health status of the city's population. Winnie Yuen, an assistant professor of counselling and psychology, told Kimmy Lau that the young adults polled, who are also known as Gen Z, may not know how to deal with trauma.
Businesses upbeat about HK's opportunities Listen
The two-day Asian Financial Forum has wrapped up, with participants who attended the event hailing new opportunities for the wealth management and family office sectors. In an interview with RTHK, Steffanie Yuen, head of wealth management firm Endowus' Hong Kong operations, also said that the city's fintech industry has seen positive growth over the past two years.
