A microbiologist says people should not panic over the case of a 56-year-old man who was found infected with a strain of hepatitis E previously found only in rats. Dr Siddharth Sridhar from the University of Hong Kong’s Department of Microbiology said efforts should now be made to find out if there are other similar cases and if so, how big the problem is. Home prices fall first time in two years Listen
The head of research at property consultancy firm Jones Lang LaSalle, Denis Ma, says he believes a number of factors have caused a fall in home prices for the first time in more than two years. He said they included expectations that mortgage interest rates would increase, the stock market’s lackluster performance and uncertainty in the global economy.
