Property developers are encouraging employees to cast their ballots in the upcoming Legislative Council elections through various ways.
Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) announced that it would grant a half-day leave to those who vote on December 7 while Hong Kong-based staff of K Wah Group staff will all get half a day off.
SHKP will also offer flexible working arrangements on election day so as to ensure workers have sufficient time to vote.
"The 2025 Legislative Council election marks a critical step in Hong Kong’s journey from stability to prosperity," chairman and managing director Raymond Kwok said in a statement.
"It presents a vital opportunity to shape policies that improve governance, drive economic growth and improve livelihoods."
K Wah Group chairman Francis Lui said in a statement that "voting is not only a fundamental right, but also a shared responsibility. Broad participation in the electoral process helps strengthen social cohesion and lays the foundation for Hong Kong’s sustainable future."
SHKP is also making use of its malls, offices and properties under its management to raise public awareness and encourage voting next month.
