The sole building spared in the deadly fire at Tai Po's Wang Fuk Court saw more residents make brief returns on Thursday, leaving with bags of valuables, personal documents as well as home appliances.
It was the second day that people from Wang Chi House were allowed into their homes to retrieve personal belongings.
Leaving the housing block with several suitcases, a resident said she was grateful that her home was left unscathed.
"I went back for some important documents and necessities for the time being. The government will arrange for us to go back in three to four weeks, so I just took things that I need while living elsewhere temporarily," she said.
"Water and electricity are running [in the flat], and elevators are operating."
A woman in her 80s returned to the estate with family members and a domestic helper.
"I don't have much to take, just my passport. I didn't take it with me during the fire, so now I'm getting it back," she said.
The inferno at the neighbouring seven blocks of the estate claimed at least 159 lives.
