Voters hope designated polling stations for civil servants, Hospital Authority staff and ethnic minorities will be retained in future elections, saying the arrangement provides a great deal of convenience.

For the first time, ten designated polling stations are set up for civil servants and seven have been put up near hospitals to facilitate the needs of medical staff. Two voting stations have also been set up near places of worship to cater for ethnic minorities.

Lui, who works for the Government Property Agency, said casting her ballot at a dedicated polling station saves her a lot of time.

"Setting up designated polling stations for civil servants allows on-duty civil servants to cast their vote during their meal time and save their travel time and expenses," she said.

A police officer, surnamed Chan, echoed her comment, saying it only took him three minutes to complete the voting process at a designated polling station in Mong Kok.

Chan urged the government to consider keeping, or further improving this arrangement in future.
