Voting for the 2025 Legislative Council election closed at 11.30 pm on Sunday, and polling stations were immediately turned into counting stations.
Ballots from the functional and election committee constituencies, meanwhile, were being processed at the central counting station at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai.
Around 1.3 million people have voted for candidates running in the geographical constituencies as of 10.30 pm, with a voter turnout rate of 31.43 percent.
The figure has already surpassed the 30.2 percent turnout rate recorded in the 2021 polls.
The voter participation rate for the functional constituencies was 39.48 percent as of 10.30 pm, while the turnout rate for the election committee constituency stood at 99.32 percent.
