Hong Kong, China's karateka Grace Lau took home a silver medal at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya in Japan on Sunday.

Delivering the SAR’s first medal of the Games, Lau, currently ranked World No. 1 in the individual kata event, advanced to the semi-final by defeating Iran’s Fatemeh Sadeghi Dastak in 5-0.

She then headed into the final by beating Chinese Taipei’s Chien Hui-hsuan 5-0.

However, she lost 0-5 in the final to Maho Ono from Japan, who is No. 2 in the world, and settled for silver.

Lau claimed bronze at the last Asian Games in Hangzhou in 2023.
