Hong Kong, China cyclists Ceci Lee and Chloe Leung claimed silver in the women’s Madison event at the Asian Games on Thursday.

In the 30-kilometre race, which is comprised of 12 sprints over 120 laps, the pair came third at the end of the 11th sprint.

In the final sprint, which offers up double the points, the SAR pair stepped up their momentum to go all out to finish second, obtaining six points to bring their total to 31.

They edged out the national team by one point to come in second overall, while host nation Japan topped the podium by 53 points.

This marked the SAR's third silver medal in the gruelling Madison event at consecutive Asian Games.
