Hong Kong, China’s squash team guaranteed themselves at least two more medals at the Asian Games in Japan on Wednesday.

The men’s team defeated Qatar 2-0 in the quarter-finals to set up a semi-final clash with Pakistan.

Henry Leung and Alex Lau both dispatched their opponents in straight sets.

In the women’s team event, the SAR proved far too strong for the national team, securing a commanding 2-0 overall victory in just over half an hour.

Lee Ka-yi and Simmi Chan dominated their respective matches in flawless fashion, both securing 3-0 wins.

The women’s team will face India for a spot in the final.

With no third-place play-offs in the team events, the squash squad is guaranteed at least two bronze medals regardless of their semi-final results.

It also marks the fifth straight Games in which Hong Kong, China has won medals in both the men's and women's team events since the team competition was introduced at the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games.
