Hong Kong, China are guaranteed two medals in the squash mixed doubles at the Asian Games after both pairs won their quarterfinals to reach Saturday's semifinals.

Lee Ka-yi and Donald Tang booked their place with a dominant straight-games win over Malaysia’s Mohammad Kamal and Aifa Azman.

The Hong Kong pair needed just 22 minutes to complete an 11-7, 11-5 victory and will next face a pair from India for a place in the final.

Toby Tse and Matthew Lai secured a second medal for the SAR with a comfortable straight-games win over Pakistan’s Asim Khan and Mehwish Ali.

They wrapped up an 11-6, 11-7 victory in 20 minutes and will meet a Malaysian pair in the semifinals for a spot in the final.

Both semifinals will be played on Saturday.

With no bronze-medal match in squash at the Asian Games, the losing pair in each semifinal is assured a medal, meaning Hong Kong, China’s two-medal haul in the event is already certain.
