Hong Kong, China claimed its first gymnastics medal in this edition of the Asian Games on Friday, as Ng Ka-ki took bronze in the men’s vault at Nagoya City General Gymnasium.

Ng scored 14.116 across two vaults in the eight-man final. Each athlete performed two vaults, with the final score calculated by adding difficulty and execution scores and subtracting any penalties.

He opened with a 14.233, recording a 5.2 difficulty score and 9.033 for execution. On his second vault, he again posted a 5.2 difficulty score and earned 8.800 for execution, giving him 14.000.

Carlos Yulo of the Philippines won gold with 14.599 while Iran’s Mahdi Olfati claimed silver with 14.533.
