Migrant workers’ group not keen on elderly care plan Listen
A migrant workers' group says it's sceptical of a government proposal to start training foreign domestic helpers to work as caregivers in subsidised elderly care homes. Executive Councillor and Elderly Commission Chairman Lam Ching-choi says a pilot scheme could be launched as early as this year, to help ease a manpower shortage in the sector. But Eni Lestari, of the Association of Indonesian Migrant Workers, says the government appears to be trying to get foreign helpers to take on jobs that locals no longer want. Pyongyang 'rebuilding' main satellite launch site Listen
Activity has been detected at a North Korean long-range rocket site, suggesting Pyongyang may be rebuilding the facility. Analysis of satellite imagery suggests the rebuilding of the site may have started even before last week's summit in Hanoi between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump. The meeting ended abruptly after the pair failed to reach an agreement on walking back Pyongyang's nuclear programme in exchange for sanctions relief.
