Hong Kong, China tennis pair Eudice Chong and Cody Wong settled for bronze in the women’s doubles on Friday after a straight-sets loss against Chan Hao-ching and Wu Fang-hsien of Chinese Taipei.
The Hong Kong duo had not dropped a single set in their previous matches at the Games, but found it tough to break through the Chinese Taipei pair, who took the opening set 6-4 after an hour-long battle.
The second set proved far more one-sided, with the Chinese Taipei duo breaking serve four times to seal a 6-2 set and wrap up the match.
With no third-place play-off in tennis, the SAR pair automatically secured the bronze medal.
