Hong Kong will be guaranteed at least four more Asian Games medals in squash, meaning the SAR team will achieve the best ever results at the Games.
The medals are secured after the SAR booked four entries in the semifinals in mixed doubles, women's singles and men's singles respectively.
In mixed doubles, the pair of Wong Chi-him and Lee Ka-yi are through to the semifinals after beating the other SAR duo, Edmond Tang and Tong Tsz-wing, 11-8, 11-8. Wong and Lee will play a pair from India on Wednesday.
In women's singles, Hong Kong have secured at least a silver and a bronze, with Simmi Chan and Ho Tze-lok set to face each other in the semifinals.
Chan booked her place in the final four after beating Malaysia's Binti Azman Aira 3-0, and Ho defeated Japan's Akari Midorikawa by the same margin.
Meanwhile in men's singles, Henry Leung beat Alex Lau 3-0 in another all-Hong Kong matchup. Leung's entrance to the semifinals means the SAR will pocket at least one more bronze in the event.
Hong Kong athletes have so far taken home six golds, 15 silvers and 24 bronzes, or 45 medals in total in the latest edition of the Games. Team SAR bagged 46 medals in Jakarta in 2018.
