The Sports Federation and Olympic Committee (SF&OC) on Saturday confirmed that Hong Kong's men's basketball team will be allowed to take part in the upcoming Asian Games after the Lebanese team pulled out.
Earlier, the SAR's hoopers were turfed out of the Hangzhou games when organisers changed the format to remove a preliminary round, which would have given lower-ranked teams a chance to make it to the main draw.
The committee said it had informed the Basketball Association that the Hong Kong team will be allowed to compete in the competition, which will run from September 26 to October 6.
