Hong Kong's Olympic silver medalist Siobhan Haughey on Monday broke the Asian Games' record on her way to the gold medal in the 200-metre freestyle swimming event in Hangzhou.
She finished ahead of the field in a time of 1 minute 54.12 seconds.
"This record doesn't have a big difference with my best time [during practice], so it's not bad," she told HOY TV after the race.
"It's been two days since the Games started. I hope I can get more good results later."
This is Hong Kong's third gold medal at the Games.
Another SAR swimmer, Ian Ho, won silver in the men's 50-metre freestyle final.
He finished in 21.87 seconds, 0.15 seconds slower than the South Korean swimmer Ji Yu-chan whose time broke the Games' record.
"I can't be more happy. I didn't go in the Asian Games with any expectations... my first time obviously," Ho told HOY TV.
"In my entire swimming career, I think this is the pinnacle so I'm happy I've been able to go as fast as I've ever been."
Stephanie Au, meanwhile, finished fourth at the women's 50-metre backstroke final.
