Education Convergence chairman Ho Hon-kuen said more than 300 primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong had responded to a survey of their engagement of the September 3 Victory-Day military parade in Beijing.
Speaking on a Commercial Radio programme on Sunday, Ho said the group appealed to all schools in Hong Kong to arrange for students to watch the live stream of the parade.
It then issued questionnaires to around 1,000 primary and secondary schools, asking if they had arranged live stream broadcasts and follow-up teaching activities, and received more than 300 responses.
"Some schools said they would hold a commemoration of the September 18th incident. It would be a simple but serious memorial event," he said.
"Some schools also said they would participate in the memorial event of the Nanjing Massacre held by the Education Bureau on December 13th, which will be held for the third time. I think these are good things."
Ho hopes students could cherish peace by studying history.
