The central government has presented the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression Commemorative Medal to the SAR, as a museum collection and major exhibit.

Deputy director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office Li Li presented the medal to leisure and cultural services director Manda Chan at a ceremony at the Hong Kong Museum of the War of Resistance and Coastal Defence on Thursday.

Chan said that the gift gives people the opportunity to appreciate the commemorative medal and its significance, deepening their patriotic sentiments.

The medal will go on display at the museum from Friday.

The SAR held a series of events last year commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
