All of Hong Kong’s men’s and women’s doubles teams are now into the second round of the National Games, in a powerful display of skill at the Hengqin Tennis Centre in Zhuhai.

The successful campaign began on Friday, and was capped off on Saturday when two more Hong Kong pairs secured their spots.

The duo of Coleman Wong and Kevin Wong set the tone with a straight-sets victory over Yunnan's Dingzheng Nima and Yang Xiaoyin.

After a hard-fought first set that they clinched 7-6, the Hong Kong pair carried their momentum to a decisive 6-4 win in the second, sealing the match in just one hour and 11 minutes.

Their victory follows the earlier success of their teammates, Nicholas Cheng and James Wong, who punched their ticket to the second round on Friday with a straight-sets win over Jiangsu's Tang Jingpeng and Wang Qiulin in just a little over an hour.

On the women’s side, the story was equally impressive.

Cody Wong and Eudice Chong delivered a commanding performance against Hebei's Aitiyaguli Aixirefu and Liu Yuhan.

They blitzed through the first set 6-1 in just 21 minutes.

While the Hebei team mounted a strong challenge in the second set, the Hong Kong pair held their nerve to pull through with a tight 7-6 win after a 54-minute battle.

They are joined in the next round by Maggie Ng and Justine Leong, who secured their own straight-sets victory 7-6, 6-3 over Fujian’s Li Yuxuan and Zheng Yilin on Friday.

The competition continues on Sunday.
