Hong Kong wheelchair fencer Tong Nga-ting on Tuesday took bronze in the women’s B grade foil at the National Games for Persons with Disabilities.
The world number two edged out Zhou Jingjing from Shanghai by 15-14 in a close bout at Ma On Shan Sports Centre.
Tong said she was really happy to play on home soil.
“I can hear a lot of Cantonese around me. I usually don’t hear so much Cantonese when I compete abroad. Feeling the support from the crowd made me really happy,” she said.
Tong said she was satisfied with her performance, especially after recovering from an injury before the Games.
